Meet Aimee

Aimee Padley is a sophomore from Springfield, Pennsylvania in Delaware County. She recently changed her major to the new Media & Culture major and has a minor in Spanish. She switched to the Media & Culture major from the Communications Studies major because of its specific focus on public relations and social media. Now, she is able have a concentration in strategic communication which she is extremely excited to learn about. She is considering adding a minor in psychology.

Future Plans

In the future, she would love to run the social media pages for a beauty company or a non-profit company. Some of these companies include Tarte Cosmetics, QVC, or an organization focused on raising awareness for metastatic breast cancer. Aimee has always had an interest in editing pictures and believes that social media is truly shaping our culture today. She would strive to build an aesthetic for whichever company she works for and represent the company to the public in the best way possible. Companies use social media to get their name out there and Aimee would love to play a huge role in that process.

Why Aimee chose West Chester

She knew she wanted to go to West Chester University early in her senior year. This is largely because of its location. It is only thirty minutes from her hometown and the town of West Chester offers so much to do. She loves trying the new restaurants in the area, especially Playa Bowls. Not only that, but the West Chester University campus was the perfect size—not too big, but not too small. Aimee is a sister of Kappa Delta Sorority and she is extremely involved.

What Aimee loves to do

She is the Vice President Community Service. In her position, she coordinates all of the community service events the sorority is involved in—including planning the annual KD Cookout event and the series of Girl Scout events held during the year. She works with representatives from Kappa Delta HQ, Girl Scouts of the USA, and Prevent Child Abuse America on a daily basis. Aimee is a firm believer in giving back to the community that has given back so much to her. She has learned so much about herself as a leader in this position as well as learned the importance of delegation, time management, and working with a Council of other women.

When first coming to West Chester University, she was so excited to get involved in Fraternity & Sorority Life. She wanted to give back to the community and joining a sorority allowed her to do just that. Her sorority sisters have truly shaped her into the leader she is today and she cannot wait to stay involved in Kappa Delta for years to come, even after she graduates in 2021.

Off-campus life

When she is not on campus, she loves spending time with her friends and family. She has two sisters—an older sister and a twin sister—who she is extremely close to. She typically spends her summers in Avalon, New Jersey and frequently travels to North Carolina. In the
future, she would love to travel to Lithuania, Spain, France, and Italy
