A Letter to Incoming Freshmen

Dear future West Chester students,

As my senior year comes to an end, I first want to congratulate you all on your own academic accomplishments and welcome you into the next chapter of your lives as the newest class of West Chester students.

Looking back four years ago, West Chester was hardly on my radar, and it was not until my Sophomore year did I consider coming to school here. I can now say that it was easily one of the best decisions of my life. Spending the last two years here has been such a wonderful experience and I hope everyone reading this can one day share the same sentiment about this great school and town.

By attending West Chester, you are about to enter some of the most fulfilling years of your life. Whether you are here for all four years or find yourself here for only part of college, your time at West Chester is what you make it. I promise that if you look for it, you will find your place here. While starting this journey may seem daunting, this community is truly of one the best places to call home for a few years.

Now is the time to explore who you are. The next few years are most importantly a chance to grow both inside and outside of a classroom. You will grow academically, but also personally, and at West Chester you will have every opportunity to do so.

With only a little over a week left, I can confidently say that West Chester has brought so much positivity to my life. I can also express with conviction that my time here has taught me more than what can be learned in a classroom.

I hope that as you venture into this journey of becoming a West Chester student, you soak it all in. Whether you are beginning as a Freshman or are finishing your education here, I will tell you to cherish every moment because it will be over before you know it.
